2) In my quest to try cardio-that-doesn't-hurt-my-foot, I've been going to the gym! Well, ok, I've gone twice this week and worked out at home twice. The gym is a bit of an adjustment. The only time I really have to workout is in the mornings or late at night (read: before the monsters get up or after they go to bed). I know myself, and I know that if I wait until evening the chances of blowing it off are much improved, so I prefer the mornings. Mornings workouts for me mean I have to be done by 6am, which means leaving the house at 4:20 to get in an hour-long workout at the gym. That's a little brutal! I'm used to getting up early, but not THAT early. I'm still going to run short runs with my girlfriends once a week, so I'm not completely out of the loop, and I'll see how my foot does with that. It's been feeling good lately.
This morning I did the Precor (elliptical) machine for 45 minutes and got in 4.6 miles (I think it's miles...it says "distance" and I assume that's miles, right?). I did the whole thing without holding on to the arm thingy's (that's the technical term for it...look it up) which I read works your core/balance and is a closer simulation of running...and since I'm a complete techno loser, I've gone twice now without headphones and had to read the captions on the tv the whole time. Need to get some headphones...
3) I've decided to jump on a new challenge hosted by Kim: the New To You Cross Training Challenge!
I was so excited when I saw this, it's exactly what this girl needs to broaden my horizons with this cross training thing. I hope to have my January "new to me" cross training done on Monday - will post about it then!
4) I picked up a copy of this magazine yesterday:
I've never looked at this magazine before and there are some great recipes. I plan to make the cover recipe, Pork and Carrot curry, sometime this weekend. Doesn't that sound yum? Will report back if it's good!
5) Speaking of yum...anyone who watches the Biggest Loser knows who Dolvett is - the
I don't know - something about the title just cracked me up. "Me and My Chair"? Really? It just doesn't scream "ass-kicking workout" to me.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Head on over to Fitness, Health and Happiness to meet other like minded bloggers at Fitness Friday!

I could not get up at 4:20am. No way, no how.
Dolvett and a chair...not hawt. How funny!
Looking forward to seeing your CT for January. Enjoy date night, you lucky girl.
Wow, 4:20, I don't know how you do it! Nice work on the elliptical. Whenever I do that machine, my feet always go numb. I must be doing something wrong:( who knows. Can't wait to hear about your new cross-training adventure!
Yay for date night--enjoy it! I'm doing the cross training challenge, too-- I'm excited to finally have the push to check out yoga, some cardio sculpt classes, etc. Agree with the above posters, I would not be functioning if I got up that early. Good for you for making it happen! Oh, and I love Clean Eating! :)
It screams sexy to me! :) He's too cute. Good luck with your new workouts. I think I'll be spending some time on the elliptical as well, I think it would be a good option for my knee. That magazine sounds like a good one to have. I should look into it.
Thanks for letting us know about the "New to You" Challenge, I just signed up for it! I'm going to have to think about what my new to me cross training will be.
I should pick up a copy of that magazine! (Although I wouldn't eat the cover recipe, I don't eat pork).
Plus, 4:20am!! NO WAY! Our alarm went off at 7:15 this morning to go for a run and we just went back to bed and did it later in the day. But I justify that with the fact that this is my last day of vacation (minus the weekend).
that title cracks me up also, too funny! great luck with the new to you challenge, sounds fun!
have a totally fun date night!
Yay for Date Night that doesn't need a babysitter. Those are my favorites.
Nice workout.
Hilarious - Me & My Chair. You almost have to get it just to see what it's like. Too funny.
i would buy that dolvett thing just to look at the picture ;) have a blast tonight!!!
No freakin' way would I ever exercise if I had to get up that early to do it every time. I am NOT a morning person. Good for you doing that. God love ya. LOVE LOVE LOVE Dolvett! But I would still choose Bob. I'm not stupid!
Great post. I finally started cross training consistently about 15 months ago and love it. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not but I've been injury free! Love Clean Eating Magazine.
Keep us updated on your challenge!
Ugh I feel your pain on the super early workouts. Good for you for getting them done. No easy task.
That chair DVD is nuts!
