woops...

I went to PT yesterday and told my therapist that I had run (which he had given me the green light to do) and that afterwards my foot hurt and was still hurting…
Him: “how far did you run?”
Me: “three miles.” - no reaction from him, so I continue on - “It was feeling pretty good before the run, but since then I have been stretching and stretching and just can’t get it to release, so I don’t know if I ran too far or…”
HIM (interrupting me): “Ya think?”

Apparently my interpretation of "go for a short run" and my PT's interpretation are different.  Who knew?  He wants me to run one mile and then I can walk a mile.  Baby steps, I guess.

I held off on telling him I signed up for a half mary in January...

Oops. I am with you. 3 miles is a short run, but to non-runners it is forever. Here's to a quick recovery and baby steps :)

its a constant reminder on who there is a huge shift in mentality between non runners and runners. At least you are still able to run a little bit!

He must not be a runner or he would have known to be more specific. 3 miles IS a short run. A mile, can that even be considered a run, it's just a warm up! This post made me laugh :)

Ha!
3 miles sounds short to me. Clearly your PT is not a runner. ;)

3 miles IS a short run. 1 mile? Not even worth the time it takes to put on your shoes. Your PT isn't a runner is he?

Can't wait to hear about his reaction to the Jan half mary :)

That's awesome! I'd have loved to see his face when you told him that. 3 miles is short though! I've just gotten warmed up by 3 miles. My hips still been bugging me and I have a half in Jan too! Hopefully we'll both do awesome for them!
